How it happened
A disastrous late turnover cost Rhode Island as the Rams lost 52-50 to Idaho State in the Cancun Challenge on Friday night.

URI (4-5) led 47-39 with six minutes left on a three-pointer by Harsimran “Honey” Kaur. From there, Idaho State (3-5) used an 11-1 run to take a 50-48 lead with 1:31 left. The Rams got a layup from Anaelle Dutat to tie the game with 46 seconds left. After a defensive stop, Rhode Island called a timeout with 7.2 seconds left to set up the final shot.

The inbound pass was stolen by Piper Carlson, and Maria Dias was fed a long breakout pass for a layup with one second left, allowing Idaho State to clinch the victory.
