Richard Gere’s wife shares a sweet video of an actor holding hands with his son

Richard Gere is celebrating the holidays abroad this year.

On Wednesday, January 1, the actor’s wife, Alejandra Silva, shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing the family spending some time exploring their home country of Spain together after moving from the United States.

In the video, the actor is seen holding hands with one of his young sons, wearing a red hat and a black puffer jacket as the two cross a bridge. Silva pans to show the view, which includes a city built on cliffs.

“Visiting Cuenca,” writes Silva about the Spanish city in the mountains of east-central Spain.

Gere, 75, and Silva share sons Alexander, 5, and James, 4, as well as Gere’s son Homer, 24, whom he shares with ex Carey Lowell, and Silva’s son Albert, 11.

In late November, Silva shared a sweet snapshot on Instagram from the family’s home in Spain as the couple’s little ones helped put up the Christmas decorations. While one child hung Christmas decorations on his large, lighted Christmas tree, the other unpacked boxes of Santa Claus statues and seasonal knick-knacks.

“As James says, Mama, Mama, today is Christmas Day! How I like their energy, their innocence ♥️, finally Christmas in Spain this year! #merrychristmas #feliznavidad,” the proud mother captioned her post, translated from Spanish to English.

Last April, Gere said Vanity Fair Spain that he planned to move to Silva’s home country of Spain to allow her to be closer to her relatives.

“It will be wonderful for Alejandra to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture,” he said of his wife. “She was very generous and gave me six years of living in my world, so it’s only fair that I give her at least six more years to live in hers.”

This fall, Gere was joined by Silva and his eldest son Homer at the New York premiere of his show The agency.

The actor proudly posed between his wife and son at the Museum of Modern Art, wearing a classic black suit and a white shirt that he left open at the top.

The actor’s son matched his father in a similar ensemble, while Silva stunned in a sparkly gold pleated skirt, which she paired with a matching crochet-style top. The Spanish publicist wore her hair in loose curls and completed the glamorous outfit with smoky eye makeup, a nude lip and statement earrings.
