Rick Harrison of ‘Pawn Stars’ reflects the death of Son Adam’s overdose

For Peasant star Creator and Star Rick Harrison, no day passes who does not think of his late son Adam Harrison, who died of an overdose last year at 39.

In an emotional interview about the latest episode of In detail with Graham BensingerThe reality TV personality opened up with the grief for the loss of his son and wondered what he could have done more.

“I mean, I think I did everything right, but you just sit in your head. ‘What if I did? What if I did?'” Said Harrison. “Do you know, ‘What if I only grab it and closed him in the back of my truck, drove him to Oregon and put him … where he couldn’t get (something)? How, you have a hundred things through your head. I think there is nothing worse than losing a child.”

He said he tried to give his son “hard love”, but “God, you just never see the OD.”

“In his 20s, you know, he had the drug problems, and only … I mean, God, I brought him to rehab so often,” said Harrison, who thinks of his son every day. “And every time it would make it great, and then it would just fall back. I mean, they heard the same story of one million people. It was really very, very bad and apparently it was not heroin that he got. He finally got some fentanyl, killed him.”

Harrison went so far that his son had arrested after he had burglary. “I thought, ‘maybe it would clean him if we put him to prison for two months,” he said. “But he went back directly.”

The reality TV star fought for words when he asked his message for parents whose children have to fight with addiction.

“I don’t know. It’s difficult,” said Harrison. “There is no F-Inselive book for children. And they are all different models.”

He reserves his grief by keeping his focus elsewhere. “I think of the good times and think about my other children,” said Harrison. “My new grandchildren. My other children. Have four grandchildren. So yes, keep going.”
