Ride VIA for free to the MLK Jr. March on January 20th

Ride VIA for free to the 37th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. March on Monday, January 20, 2025. VIA Metropolitan Transit’s free bus service for marchers supports the largest MLK holiday parade in the country.

Passengers can use the march for free Monday, January 20, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at two locations.
♦ Freeman Coliseum, 3201 E. Houston St. (Lot 1)
♦ St. Philip’s College, 1801 Martin Luther King Dr. (Lot 22). Lot 22 is located at Montana and Mittman streets.

The drop-off location for the march will be on MLK Drive, west of Upland Drive.

March return service

Buses will return passengers to the original pickup locations Noon to 3 p.m Participants can use the pick-up service at Pittman-Sullivan Park. 1101 Iowa St.

The community is invited to visit the VIA tent at Pittman-Sullivan Park near the YMCA parking lot from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., where the vintage Dreamliner bus will be parked for viewing. VIA team members will be on site to share information about VIA programs and services, including the Keep SA Moving plan and ongoing public transportation improvement projects throughout San Antonio and Bexar County.

Participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable foods to purchase through Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission to donate to support the San Antonio Food Bank. Red collection containers will be placed near the Greater Faith Institutional Church at 3514 Martin Luther King Drive at the start of the march and in Pittman-Sullivan Park, where the march will end.
