Roadway in Antioch littered with bullet casings after drive-by shots

(KRON) – Authorities say dozens of shell casings were found after Antioch police responded to multiple 911 calls about a drive-by shooting Monday night. Five unoccupied vehicles and a donut shop were hit by the gunfire.

Police responded to the 1000 block of St. Francis Drive at 6:37 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of shots fired near the intersection of Contra Loma Boulevard. Arriving officers found no gunshot victims at the scene, Antioch police said. Approximately 53 spent shell casings were scattered across the roadway.

After canvassing the area, officers determined that the south side of Peter Piper Donuts, 2719 Contra Loma Blvd., was struck by gunfire. According to police, three unoccupied vehicles in the company’s parking lot were also struck by bullets. On St. Francis Dr. Two other unoccupied vehicles were hit by gunfire.

The shooting is still under investigation. Antioch police did not identify any suspects.
