Rockets at Kings, December 3: Watch, stream, lineups, injury report

The Rockets (15-6, 3-0) will complete the group stage of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup when they visit the Kings (9-12, 0-3) on Tuesday night. Houston went a perfect 3-0 against Sacramento last season, including a road win there last March.

As far as cup implications go, Houston has already secured first place in Group A of the Western Conference. But the Rockets still need to secure a spot in the top two West teams – and with it a home game in next week’s quarterfinal knockout round. There are several scenarios they could use to achieve this, but the simplest and easiest would be to simply win in Sacramento and finish the group stage undefeated.

As far as regular-season storylines go, Houston is just a half-game behind Oklahoma City (15-5) for the No. 1 seed in the 2024-25 West standings. Overall, the Rockets have won 10 of their last 12 games.

For Houston, it’s the start of a three-game road trip through California. Further games are scheduled for Thursday at Golden State and Sunday at the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Kings enter the season with losses in six of their last seven games despite dealing with injuries to several key rotation players (DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter) early in the season. Huerter could return, while DeRozan and Monk are expected to play and start, so Sacramento could be a more daunting opponent than its record and recent results suggest.
