Roki Sasaki sets the goal for the rest of the season with Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers recently suffered the worst defeat in franchise history when the Chicago Cubs wrapped the defending champion with 16: 0.

Before the offensive outpour, Roki Sasaki took the hill and made five innings with career height, with four goals and a deserved run with three strikes.

Sasaki, a coveted young pitcher who played in his first MLB season, spoke about what it meant to finally play five innings in the MLB game.

“Only in view of the context that I have not reached the last three games was it really important for me to attack this point this time,” said Sasaki. “I hope that I can do so as a minimum in the future.”

In a high goal for some, Sasaki believes that he can achieve it for the rest of the season. In view of its history in Nippon Professional Baseball, it seems to be only a matter of time until the phenomenon returns to its familiar form.

Sasaki had an era of 2.10 in his four NPB season with 394.2 Innerings and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 5.74.

Manager Dave Roberts described Sasaki as one of the few highlights on Saturday evening in the middle of the blowout.

“Absolutely,” said Roberts. “Today was the hope that he would continue to build at his last start. For me it was the silver strip of the night, and probably the most important piece of the game was that he would get better, go deeper into the game, strike, get strikes, soft contact.

“As I told him below, we can now push him further and continue to go forward.”

It is difficult to find many positive results from the worst house loss in Dodgers’ history, but Sasaki still hit a milestone. The name of the game for the young pitcher will be the durability and build on a solid excursion.
