The head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, says that he was “in rush” that his team improves and challenges again for the Premier League title.

The Portuguese were interviewed on this topic Sky Sport.

Media reports in February said the hierarchy of the association had presented a plan called “Mission 21”, which should help the club to win its 21st League title by 2028.

But Amorim is hoping for success beforehand and hoping for significant improvements in the next season, which will start in a little more than four months.

He told a press conference before the game: “I understand, but I’m not naive. I don’t want to believe that we need many years to be competitive. I can’t think that I can’t do it, it is not in me. So I’m looking for pressure on myself.

“I know we won’t be the biggest challengers in the next or two years. We will change many things in the club and we know that it will take a lot of time, but I will not say that I need for many years.

“Our goal is next year. I don’t say that we will win the title next year, I’m not crazy.

“I say that I don’t want this conversation to need for many years and let it keep us calm – no, we are in a hurry. We suffer a lot for the next year to get so much better.

“I don’t want to be the guy who sits here and says we need a lot of time. I will not be this coach.

“All teams, they are already in a place where we need a lot to catch them, and they will improve again next season. I want to concentrate on our strengths and then use our club to try to bring in one or two big players.

“I can’t manage to say something in three years, we will still try something. We will start for me next season. We have to be so much better because this is a massive club and I would like to put this pressure on me and everyone here.”
