Ryder Cup 2025: The strategic game of the golf captains Keegan Bradley and Luke Donald

If we approach the last route of the 2025 golf calendar, the selection process for the coveted Ryder Cup gains dynamics. Keegan Bradley, captain of the US team, leaves nothing untrained to put together the best team. Bradley’s proactive approach to the selection of players, a lesson that was learned from his omission of Zach Johnson in 2023, has attracted the attention of his European counterpart Luke Donald.

Donald, a former champion itself, has re -adapted the reins of the European team. In particular, he started to reflect Bradley’s technology, to follow the players’ players closely. A current instance of this was his direct public relations work that presented potential, as can be seen in a contribution shared by @flushingitgolf.

The contribution raised Donald’s contact with Adrian Meronk after his victorious run in Liv Golf Riad. Meronk, a professional golfer from Poland, was in an impressive form, won a victory with its 62-66-71 rounds and gave another top 15 finish in Adelaide.

Meronk was quoted in the post office and mentioned Donald’s message: “Luke Donald wrote me after my victory in Riad and said:” Stop. “If I play well, I will be available and I don’t want to play my main goal.

Despite his latest success, Meronk is currently in the 137th place in Ryder Cup’s ranking. His participation in the big tournaments could significantly increase his reputation. When he competes in the International Macau series, his goal is to secure a place in the top three and thus receive an exception for the open championship.

However, Meronk is not the only LIV golfer who is looking for a Ryder Cup base. The Spanish professional professional Sergio Garcia, a former winner in Andalusia in July 2024, was consistently impressive. His achievements in 2025, including a T6 in Riyadh, T18 in Adelaide, and a victory in Hong Kong, arrested his dispute over a place in the team.

Garcia’s efforts are clear. He explained: “I think he is watching” and referred to Captain Donald. He added: “We were in contact, so I know that he keeps an eye. The only thing I can do is to continue playing Golf, and I just want to help the European team, as I have tried to do a member of this team every time, and hopefully he will think that I’m good enough for it.”

Historically, Garcia made the European team a capital and contributed considerably in 2018 and 2021.

Will Garcia’s consistent achievements secure his place in the Ryder Cup? Or will the dynamics of the selection process take place differently? While we are waiting for the final decision, the golf world remains fascinated by these developments.
