Saints seek interview with Eagles coordinator Kellen Moore | Saints

The New Orleans Saints have requested to speak with Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore about the team’s head coaching vacancy, a source familiar with the situation confirmed.

Moore joins Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver on the list of NFL assistants the Saints have requested interviews with.

Interim coach Darren Rizzi, who replaced Dennis Allen in November, is also expected to be considered for the position.

Moore, 36, has worked as an NFL offensive coordinator for the past six seasons. After one season as the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterbacks coach in 2018, he served as the team’s coordinator and game director for four years.

After Moore and the Cowboys parted ways following the 2022 season, Moore spent a year as offensive coordinator under Brandon Staley with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Staley and his team were released, allowing Moore to land with the Philadelphia Eagles in February 2024.

His only season in Philadelphia was a productive one, helping the team post a 14-3 season with an NFC East title. The Eagles averaged 27.2 points per game during the regular season, with running back Saquon Barkley surpassing the 2,000-yard rushing mark.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts has also thrived under Moore, completing 68.7 percent of his passes for 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Moore, a former star quarterback at Boise State, played six seasons in the NFL with the Cowboys and Detroit Lions.

Despite his relatively young age, Moore’s name has been linked to NFL head coaching jobs for several years. He was once considered one of the league’s most up-and-coming coaches, similar to Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson today.

Moore, for example, interviewed the Denver Broncos in 2022 and the Chargers in 2024.
