Scottie Scheffler plans his debut 25 in Pebble Beach

Scottie Scheffler has undertaken to take part in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am next week, his first competition for about six weeks, while recovering from a stab wound in his right hand, which he contracted when preparing Christmas dinner.

Scheffler had said at the beginning of the week that the recovery was progressing well and that he absolutely wanted to come back, but that he did not plan to “storm back just to storm”.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM has the largest field of participants (80 players) of the $ 20 million signature events, as there is an amateur component in Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill on two days. Scheffler took sixth place last year when the square was reduced to 54 holes due to violent wind and rain and the weather forecast on Sunday was so bad that roads were closed.

It will be his first time that he participates in a tournament since he won the Hero World Challenge on the Bahamas for the second time in a row on December 8th in a row. On December 17th in Las Vegas, Scheffler also teamed up with Rory Mcilroy to win a television tournament Match that only lasted 14 holes, against the Liv Golf Stars Brooks Koepka and Bryson Dechamea.

Scheffler said that he usually stops after the season and spends more time in the gym, but still plays a lot of social golf. This time he could not touch a racket while he had his hand healed by an operation in which glass splinters were removed from his right hand.

“It was quite unusual for me not to be able to do much in the gym,” said Scheffler, who said that he mainly worked on his lower body until his hand began to heal.

Last week he had to miss the Sentry in Kapalua and the American Express in the California desert. Scheffler did not announce a schedule when he started beating balls or how much he would play. He is a double winner of the World Cup Phoenix Open, which is held a week after Pebble.

The tournament, which begins on Thursday, will be the beginning of a eagerly awaited encore for the FedEx Cup winner. Scheffler has had a season in which he won nine times, including an Olympic gold medal and another Masters GrĂ¼n Jacket. He was also the first player to win the Players Championship in two consecutive years.

Jordan Spieth, a three-time major champion and former number 1 in the world, has also returned to Pebble Beach, who has undergone an operation on the left after the first Fedex Cup night event.
