Security details for Duke’s 2025 Mayo Bowl at Bank of America Stadium

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Security for the Duke’s Mayo Bowl at Bank of America Stadium will mirror Carolina Panthers games, the Charlotte Sports Foundation said Wednesday.

This means that a clear bag policy is enforced so that only approved items are placed in clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags measuring no more than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ or in handbags, bags or clutches measuring A maximum of 12 inches x 6 inches x 4.5 inches x 6.5 inches may be inserted, per stadium guidelines.

Bank of America Stadium is asking fans not to bring bags to the game.

Prohibited items include strollers, umbrellas, food and beverages, coolers, horns, bells, whistles and other noise makers.

The Duke’s Mayo Bowl between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Virginia Tech Hokies begins Friday, January 3, at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6:00 p.m

If attendance is anywhere near what it has been in previous years, there could be 40,000 people at the game at Bank of America Stadium on Friday night.

FanFest will take place in front of Bank of America Stadium on game day from 1:00 p.m

The Charlotte Sports Foundation has a partnership with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, which it uses for other security measures, the organization said.

As part of the game’s events, Duke’s Mayo Bowl Fan Central returned to Truist Plaza on Thursday evening for a pep rally, live music and performances by the school’s marching bands.
