Serafini believes Milan can “improve their lead” after their positive performance against Empoli

Paulo Fonseca and his Milan side collected three crucial points against Empoli on Saturday evening, playing as a team for the first time in a long time. As pundit Luca Serafini pointed out, they can improve the league lead if they play like this.

Thanks to two goals in the first half and another in the second half, Milan confidently secured all three points against Empoli. They dominated from start to finish and could have scored more goals highlighted by Paulo Fonseca after the game.

Speaking to MilanTV, transcribed by MilanNews, expert Luca Serafini shared his thoughts on the positive portrayal. If they can continue like this, i.e. play as a team, then there will be enough games to improve the situation in the table.

“Milan is playing as a team again: I can’t remember how long it’s been since they kept two clean sheets in a row in the league, that’s a good sign. This is a team that has to play for each other, help each other, understand and read the situations.

“If you have that balance in terms of attitude and commitment, with or without Musah, you can pursue goals, improve the league lead and, above all, go to Bergamo with a consciousness,” he said.

Atalanta are next at least in the league (Sassuolo in the Coppa Italia on Tuesday) and it will be a very difficult away game. The question is whether Milan can finally follow up the strong performance that has been so difficult for them this season.
