Shack Chat: What was your best Black Friday 2024 find?

This is a bit of a grab bag topic, but that’s not it. Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, and even if we’re not the kind of people who happily feed the capitalist machine, sometimes it’s nice to save a few bucks on essentials… or a few toys. In this weekend’s Shack Chat, we’re showcasing our best finds this Black Friday and would love for you to share your best deals with us.

Question: What was your best Black Friday 2024 find?

UREVO Under Desk Treadmill – Ozzie Mejia, Senior Walker

This deal just showed up on Amazon today. For someone like me who doesn’t get many steps in outside of event days, this is a must. Keep the blood flowing in your legs and don’t indulge in a sedentary lifestyle. I’ve been looking for an under desk treadmill for a while now and it’s nice to see that I’ve found something affordable.

Believe it or not, my family was in a minor car accident this week, right before Thanksgiving. We’re fine and the car will be fine because we have good insurance. Still, the idiot who hit us ran away as fast as he could and we couldn’t get any information from him, and that just keeps complicating things. The worst part was that it happened to our nicer car that we just got this year (isn’t that just how it is?).

Hence the case for my choice. I cannot allow my very beautiful, expensive things to be destroyed by stupid people who don’t want to take responsibility for their terrible mistakes. That’s not okay, which is why I think a dashcam for the good car is an investment. I hope the guy who hit our car is happy with his beat-up SUV. They’re the last people to get away with it because they happened to do it during Black Friday week when this stuff is actually on sale.

Ultimately, I think that last aspect, the timing, is actually something of a silver lining.

A refrigerator – Asif Khan, CEO/EIC/EIEIO – wants to modernize his kitchen

My refrigerator is on its last legs. There are broken drawers, the water dispenser no longer works, and it’s no longer time to replace it. This leads me to scour hardware store websites for great deals. Hopefully by the time this article goes live I will have found my next fridge and it will be a good deal. Otherwise, I bought some N95 masks at 40% off on Amazon.

A few years ago I bought a Roomba on Black Friday, or maybe it was Cyber ​​Monday. I can’t remember, but I didn’t buy it for myself. I bought it for my mother, who nicknamed her robot vacuum “Rosie” and to this day tells me stories about all the shenanigans Rosie gets up to.

Protein and Creatine Monohydrate – Sam Chandler, Buff Santa Time

I’m a simple man, I see my favorite protein on sale and stock up. I see that the creatine supply is available again and get a few extra doses. This year’s Black Friday sale was pretty great, so I managed to snag enough to last me through the new year. Let the Christmas profits flow.

A new TV and more – Steve Tyminski, I have to be good to go out on Black Friday!

I usually try not to go out on Black Friday, but for the past few years I’ve actually managed quite well on the day after Thanksgiving. This year I’ll probably try to find a new TV for my bedroom. I’ve been using the same one for a long time and it’s starting to show signs of wear. It’s my TV and another computer monitor that I play my games on during the Stevetendo show. It’s time for a change. Then my parents are looking for a new refrigerator and we have been looking for quite some time. My dad also wants a new leaf blower and we think we found a good deal on it at Lowe’s. Combine that with the fact that I might go out of my way to grab a PlayStation 5, and you have my shopping list for the worst day of the year to shop. I’m sure there are more, but that’s all I can think of at the moment.
