The Colorado Buffaloes have officially revitalized their program with a 9-3 season under Deion Sanders.

The Buffaloes finished in a four-way tie for first place in the Big 12 but will not play in the championship game.

According to the tiebreakers, Colorado is eliminated from the championship game, while Arizona State and Iowa State are in it.

However, missing the championship game doesn’t stop the Buffaloes from celebrating.

They’ll get a good bowl game for their performance this season, and their best players are already receiving awards.

Shedeur Sanders was just named the winner of the 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

“The Golden Arm Award winner is recognized not only for their athletic achievements, but also for their character, citizenship, academic achievement, leadership and athletic ability,” said John Unitas Jr., president of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation , Inc.

Sanders will be the next outstanding quarterback to receive this award, joining Jayden Daniels, Max Duggan and Kenny Pickett.

He finished his senior season with 3,926 yards, 35 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season. Sanders also rushed for four more touchdowns.

His 35 touchdowns are a new Colorado single-season record.

Sanders may not be done winning the awards just yet either. He is a finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award and a semifinalist for the Manning Award.

The Davey O’Brien Award goes to the most outstanding quarterback in college football.

The Manning Award also goes to the most outstanding quarterback in college football, but also includes postseason performance in the evaluation.

Sanders’ exceptional 2024 season got him to those nominations, but he had some help getting there.

A much-improved offensive line helped Sanders find success in the Colorado offense.

Facing a successful season, Sanders bought one of his offensive players, freshman Jordan Seaton, a $200,000 Mercedes-Maybach as a reward for his performance.
