Sheriff’s officials say a woman who went missing with two dogs has been found dead near Werden

Less than a day after her husband’s arrest on second-degree murder charges, officials announced that they had found Susan Lane-Fournier’s body and ruled her death a homicide.

Officers arrested 71-year-old Michel Fournier of Brightwood on Friday after recovering the body of 61-year-old Lane-Fournier near East Highway 26 and East Miller Road in Clackamas County near Werden, the sheriff’s office said of Clackamas County in a statement.

Lane-Fournier and her two dogs were reported missing on Nov. 22, sparking a four-day search in the Mount Hood National Forest after her truck was found in the area, officials said.

Court records indicate that Lane-Fournier’s disappearance came a few weeks after she filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years, although the divorce had not yet been finalized.

Lane-Fournier’s dogs have not been found, officials said.

Officials are asking anyone with information about her death to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 503-723-4949 or use the online form at www.clackamas.us/sheriff/tip and reference number 24-024698 to use.
