‘She’s a criminal’: Woman charged with murder in Chad Mullen case seeks bond – Action News Jax

Family members of a Putnam County father are frustrated after one of the women charged with his murder seeks a bond.

Tina Lee-Ellis is accused of helping hide Chad Mullen’s body after he was killed. She will face a judge tomorrow morning.

Family members said it had already been a difficult holiday without their loved one, even more so with the bail hearing coming up tomorrow.

Daughter Holli Mullen said it was a slap in the face after a devastating holiday without her father. She fears that Tina Lee-Ellis’s posting of bail would cause serious damage to the ongoing murder investigation.

“She doesn’t deserve to spend the holidays with her family when I can’t because she was a part of something,” Holli said.

Tina Lee-Ellis is charged with accessory to murder after she was accused of helping bury 53-year-old Chad Mullen in a shallow grave in Hastings.

Tomorrow she is requesting bail after being behind bars for less than a month.

“She has a long criminal history and is simply a danger. I don’t want to live in Palatka and see her living on my street,” said Carrie Smith, Chad Mullen’s close friend.

Carrie Smith believes the murder investigation is still in its early stages and there is more to learn about Tina’s involvement – such as the fact that Chad was buried on the same farm where Tina Lee-Ellis worked.

Both said their family and many other community members would attend the hearing and testify against a possible connection between Lee and Ellis.

Holli Mullen said she hopes the courts make the right decision by keeping her in prison.

Co-defendant Caylen Deller, Chad Mullen’s ex-girlfriend, is charged with first-degree murder. She is expected to be back in court on January 9th.
