Shop small, make a big impact. Downtown Partnership of Baltimore Hosts “Shop Small Crawl”

BALTIMORE – It’s Black Friday and holiday shopping is top of mind, but Saturday is an opportunity to find unique gifts for all your loved ones while supporting small business owners here in Baltimore.

Starting at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore will feature 12 local businesses for its Shop Small Crawl. City officials will join shoppers to experience a taste of everything downtown has to offer from Charles Street to the Harborplace Pavilions.

The partnership’s president, Shelonda Stokes, said: “We have a florist – Fleur De Lis – that we will go to and they will do a demonstration and you can make your own bouquet and go home with it, that’s what we want.” .” We go to a bridal store so people can say “yes” to the dress!

Also on the agenda are Cajou Creamery and Café and the newly opened Dede shop, owned by the sisters behind luxury interior design firm Decorelle.

Co-owner Yvette Pappoe said: “Our goal is to give everyone access to some of the items we design, hand-picked and curated for their own home.”

Pappoe said she hopes the event will encourage more foot traffic to Howard Street businesses.

“The Bromo Arts District is a neighborhood that deserves more attention,” Pappoe said.

That’s why Stokes said you can make a big difference by buying in small quantities.

“It really supports the ecosystem,” Stokes said. “So we want to get off the bus, go into these businesses and really help shed light on what they do.”

The Shop Small Crawl will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The crawl begins at the Downtown Partnership at 20 S Charles St.
