“Sinner”: Ryan Coogler reacts to the success of the cash register in the letter

When Ryan Coogler mingles in the critical and commercial triumph of his latest film “Siners”, he turns a mirror back to the people who have contributed to enabling this success.

Coogler, who brought Marvel’s “Black Panther” films to life, said in a letter that was shared on Tuesday on Instagram that he had “eternal gratitude” for the cinema goers who supported the vampire horror who landed in the cinemas on Friday. “My heart bursts with it,” he wrote.

The filmmaker “Fruitvale Station” devoted more than half of his letter – which he wrote on a typewriter and wrote on the film’s Instagram page – to see “Sünde” in the cinemas. He recognized the fans who saw the film in “different formats”, those who adapted their schedules to see the film, and others who praised the “sinners” in their inner circles.

“I had the gifts of the opportunity to inspire a film inspired by my family and my descent, but it was always a film that we wanted to make for the audience in the cinemas,” he continued. “We always had a mind with them, the audience, and felt the deep responsibility to entertain them and move them as only the cinema can.”

“Siners”, written and staged by Coogler, shows a long -time employee and “Creed” star Michael B. Jordan as a few twins who return to their hometown Mississippi, where supernatural evils are waiting at night. The publication of Warner Bros. Pictures was strongly opened at the box office in Easter weekend, received $ 45.6 million and exceeded expectations. It defeated the publication of Warner Bros. “A Minecraft Movie”, which deserved $ 41.3 million on the same weekend. This blockbuster based on the popular video game franchise franchise of the same name broke records with its opening of $ 157 million.

Before “sinners” was successful at the box office, the horror film was a hit among the critics. The Times’ Amy Nicholson said in her review that Coogler’s latest project “is not just a great film, but an eternal film that will exceed today’s box office and tomorrow’s awards as favorites forever”.

“Coogler has put three controlling genres – drama, musical and monster film – into a hymnic about the fight to create something nice on earth during her time,” she wrote.

In the midst of “Sünders” theater rollout, which has drawn attention from A-listeners, including “The Bear” star Ayo Edebiri, the Lakers icon LeBron James and Tyler, the creator, simply wrote Coogler: “I believe in the cinema.”

“I believe in the theater experience. I think it’s a necessary pillar of society,” he added. “That is why I and so many of my colleagues have devoted our lives to the craft. We cannot do what we do if they don’t appear.”

Coogler also dedicated his letter to how filmmaking made it possible for him to “find a career and build a more sustainable life”. He said he would thank the supporters by continuing to “give up my personal human experience and relationship for further stories”. He wrote: “To see your answer to the film, I and many others who believe in this art form have re -invigorated.”

Coogler said that “sinners” were also a way for him to honor his ancestors and adores his ancestors such as Spike Lee, Steve McQueen, Ava Duvernay, Jordan Peele and the late directors David Lynch and John Singleton. He completed his letter by encouraging the audience to continue in the cinemas.

“Together we can perhaps expand the definition of what a blockbuster is, what a horror film is and what an IMAX audience looks like,” he wrote. “See you in the cinema, popcorn bucket in our hands!”

“Siners” is now in cinemas and also plays Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller, Newcomer Miles Caton and Delroy Lindo.
