Six years later, this Seventh District murder remains unsolved

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Shortly before midnight on the evening of December 4, 2018, New Orleans Police Department officers were patrolling the area around St. Anthony Street and North Claiborne Avenue when they heard gunshots. Moments later, calls came in to 911 and officers were dispatched to that intersection.

At the scene, they found a white Nissan Altima with multiple bullet holes. They also found 21-year-old Ronald Johnston lying on the ground. He was also hit and died at the scene of the accident.

For a time, a $5,000 reward was offered in the case, but six years later the case remains unsolved.
