With 2022 Smile With over $217 million in box office earnings and this year’s sequel not too far behind, it looks like Finn is just getting started with the franchise. The films are made for very little money, meaning they turn a quick profit, and Paramount Pictures would be foolish to abandon them now. Finn has already explained this There are plans for a third part of the seriesbut is silent on all plot details.

Speaking to Collider in October, he told the outlet Smile 3 could go in any number of directions, but admitted he wants to stick with character-driven stories. What this means for the future is unclear. But the director said he has many tricks up his sleeve.

“I think there are a lot of interesting paths that any future Smile could take. I love all the things that happen in the night and all the really scary things in the big concept of Smile and the Smiler.”

“But for me, Smile is really a vehicle to tell really intense and hopefully thoughtful character stories, and so I want to make sure that regardless of whether more than one person has it, we still find a way to really invest. “ Intimacy in storytelling is very important to me, but I think Smile still has some really interesting tricks up its sleeve.
