Snowfall amounts from Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 | Schnack’s weather blog

A clipper system brought moderate to briefly heavy snowfall along the Highway 30 to I-80 corridors across the state. A few snow squall warnings were issued for the morning drive from Carroll to about Grinnell.

There was a thin window of 3 to 4 inches in Iowa and Johnson County, with about 1 to 3 inches for Highway 30 and south. North of Highway 30, snow totals dropped quickly and north of Highway 20 there was virtually no snow. This link will take you to an interactive map with snowfall totals.
