“Someone needs to check on Giada.”

Maybe she wanted to create a shock effect? Fans have flooded Giada De Laurentiis’ latest TikTok video to express their concern after the former Food Network star a Sosurprising new recipe on the platform: chocolate noodles.

“Okay, this is one of my favorite songs from when I was a kid when I was having a bad day. Chocolate noodles,” De Laurentiis says in a viral video that has racked up over 21,000 likes. She later added step-by-step instructions on how to do it to the post. “Okay, do it!!! The chocolate pasta movement has begun,” she wrote in the caption.

“A bowl of pasta topped with some chocolate. Honestly, there is nothing more comforting and a bigger hug,” says De Laurentiis. “And listen, it’s not the sexiest dish, but it’s pretty darn good.”

In the TikTok, Giada puts her pasta shells (from her own line Giadzy) into a pot of boiling water before straining it and covering the pasta with a chocolate hazelnut spread (also from Giadzy, of course). “It’s a little cleaner,” she says of the Nutella impostor. “It’s like your Parmesan cheese.”

“You know, this started when I was a kid,” she continues. “My mom used to make it with Nutella or chocolate chips or whatever, but I was also the kid who had chocolate sandwiches for breakfast, so I don’t think it’s that weird.”

Now some fans agreed with the invention. “If Giada says to eat pasta with chocolate…we’ll eat pasta with chocolate,” one user wrote, while another added: “That looks bomb no matter what anyone says.”

However, the vast majority of the audience was downright worried. “I love you forever, but I don’t know about chocolate noodles,” someone chimed in. “Giada I love you, like cooked food but this is going too far,” another replied.

“You know what, friend, I’ve already eaten but you keep going,” a third person joked.

“Someone needs to check on Giada! 😂😂😂,” said another chocolate pasta hater.

While our deputy food editor Francesca Zani says she’s “never heard of/seen/grew up with chocolate pasta,” she admits that “that could be a thing. It seems that chocolate or cocoa noodle doughs are more popular.”

I mean, has our girl Giada ever steered us in the wrong direction?
