Sources: Texaner lands Gardner-Johnson from Eagles for Ol Green

Houston-the Texans act for the security of Philadelphia Eagles CJ Gardner-Johnson in return for the left guard Kenyon Green, shared sources.

The deal also includes a pick-swap, with the Eagles receiving a fifth round 2026 and the Texans, who receive a sixth in 2026. Gardner-Johnson is a well-known Ball Hawk with six interceptions in 2024 and 2022 for the Eagles in separate stints. The Texans lost the security of Eric Murray with the Jacksonville Jaguars with a three-year $ 22.5 million deal in the free agency, so that they use Gardner-Johnson to fill this gap.

Gardner-Johnson joins a defense of the Houston Pass defense, which allowed sixth place in Passing Yards (201) and 13th place in the rating of the defense (21.9). Gardner-Johnson’s 18 career interceptions fit what the Texan defense did last year when they took second place in the interceptions (19).

This is the second trade that the Texans have done in relation to the offensive line since the beginning of the Free Agency. On Monday, Houston acted against Washington commanders against the Washington commanders against the third and seventh round in 2025 and in 2026 against the Washington commanders.

Green started 23 games in his career for the Texans, but in 2024 after the protection of the quarterback CJ Stroud was struggling. Houston also released the right -wing guardian Shaq Mason before the start of the free agency.
