Spider-Man’s Tom Holland returns to cinemas: Find out when and where!

As TMC airs “Uncharted” this Thursday, November 28th, let’s explore Tom Holland’s upcoming projects beyond Marvel and “Spider-Man 4.”

February 16th marks three years since Tom Holland hit theaters with the release of “Uncharted,” an adaptation of the popular adventure video game that TMC hit theaters for the last time this Thursday, November 28th. This is the perfect moment to look ahead to the films we’re likely to see him in, especially given his busy 2026 schedule.

Adventure awaits you

It’s time to talk about the Uncharted sequel first. Released in February 2022, the first installment based on the video game series attracted 2,512,288 viewers in France and grossed over $407 million worldwide – a remarkable achievement at a time when cinemas were still affected by COVID.

This success was enough for Nathan Drake to embark on another treasure hunt in an upcoming sequel that is highly anticipated. In February 2024, Mark Wahlberg, who plays Sully, revealed that he had a script and was asked to grow a mustache more closely resembling the video game character he portrayed in the post-credits scene. Since then there has been silence and it is unclear whether Ruben Fleischer will return as director. However, the project is there; It just needs to be fit into Tom Holland’s busy schedule.

Marvel Mania

Along with Uncharted, Spider-Man was another of Tom Holland’s most elusive projects. After “No Way Home,” which could have been a natural conclusion to Holland’s portrayal of the character, his return in the Spider-Man suit was uncertain. However, the actor himself has spoken about it and Destin Daniel Cretton (known for “Shang-Chi”) has been tapped to direct the fourth part of this solo adventure, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22, 2026.

This will be just three months after Avengers: Doomsday, the next major Marvel ensemble film that will likely pit Spider-Man against Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., thanks to the multiverse. Rumors about Destin Daniel Cretton’s film are swirling with talk of multiverses, multiple villains, possible returns of Tobey Maguire and/or Andrew Garfield and Tom Hardy as Venom. Details remain unclear, but Zendaya’s participation is confirmed and this won’t be her only film with Tom Holland in 2026.

Nolan’s new venture

Every new Christopher Nolan film is shrouded in mystery regarding its plot and star-studded cast, and his currently untitled thirteenth film, which follows his Oscar-nominated Oppenheimer, is no exception. Rumors suggest it could be a futuristic thriller about two helicopter pilots influenced by Blue Thunder, but details on that are sparse.

Matt Damon, a veteran of Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Interstellar, will reunite with Nolan, possibly starring alongside Tom Holland. They are expected to be joined by Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway (back from “The Dark Knight Rises”), Robert Pattinson (from “Tenet”) and Zendaya. For Zendaya, this will be her first non-Marvel film with Holland, unless Nolan’s film turns out to be Spider-Man 4, which seems unlikely. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year in several European countries. The release is scheduled for July 15, 2026 – just a week before the next Spider-Man.

From biopic to racing

There is currently no set release date for the Paul King-directed Fred Astaire biopic, and it remains uncertain whether that project or the Wonka sequel, which King is also working on, will be next. King said in February that the Astaire project was still active, but he was still researching the story of the tap-dancing legend’s life.

Tom Holland, who has committed himself to portraying the Hollywood musical star, could also previously dedicate himself to a different kind of biography: he and Austin Butler will play Dale and Bill Whittington, the Texas-born racing drivers who won the famous 24 Hours in 2010 won Le Mans in 1979.

That film, titled “American Speed,” was the subject of a studio bid last August, with Amazon MGM taking the lead after Warner and Paramount pulled out. So far the film lacks a title, director or release date, but the casting duo promises great potential and may follow in the footsteps of Ford v Ferrari.
