St. Cloud police arrest a man accused of killing his fiancée

A St. Cloud man was arrested after police said he shot his fiancée after an argument early Sunday morning. St. Cloud police said officers responded to a home on Western Sun Drive in reference to a shooting just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Officers made contact with 57-year-old Timothy Hyder and then found his fiancée, Natalie Du’Mee, dead on the back patio of the home. Hyder was arrested and is charged with second-degree murder. Police said he was cooperating with investigators. Police said a handgun was clearly visible on the kitchen counter of the home. “Our condolences go out to the victim and his family during this unimaginably difficult time,” said St. Cloud Police Chief Douglas Goerke. “If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, there are resources to support you. Contact a trusted friend, family member, or local domestic violence hotline. You are not alone.”Dr. Laura Streyffeler, a therapist and domestic violence expert, said the national hotline is a helpful resource and trusting family and friends to be by your side can make a difference. “We don’t know anything about this particular situation, whether that is the case or not.” “The relationship was over and she was planning to leave,” said Dr. Streyffeler. “But I can tell you that statistically more than 75% of the victims killed are killed when they leave.
