Stanislaus California State University is preparing for a budget cut of 8.1 million US dollars

Stanislaus of the California State University is faced with government budget cuts of $ 8.1 million. This happens after the new budget proposal from governor Gavin Newsom has reduced the financing of the CSU state by 7.9%.

These cuts will affect all 23 locations in the California State University System and lead a total of 375 million US dollars of budget cuts.

“We are looking for alternative energy sources. We are looking for opportunities on Fridays, maybe we don’t work out of the office so that we can save energy and such things,” said CSU Stanislaus CFO Rose McAuliffe. “We are also looking for alternative sources of income. We have the opportunity to design areas of our campus, and also to rent space on our Stockton campus. The university has already reduced its budget by a voluntary separation program by $ 5 million. The program allowed employees who retired or resigned from the employees who retired from December 31, 2024. Mcauliffe said that 50 employees had participated in the program.

CSU Chancellor Mildred García published an explanation and said partially:

McAauliffe said their efforts to reduce their budget will revolve around the impact of the students.

“We are optimistic, we are happy about the aggressiveness that we were very strong with our enrollment and our cooperation with the community and the support of the community,” said Mcauliffe.
