Star player returns from injury in Clippers-Nuggets

After the Clippers lost Paul George to the Philadelphia 76ers, many NBA fans wondered where the team’s offensive power would come from. Norman Powell heard that challenge and met it spectacularly this season.

In 15 games this season, Powell averaged 23.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists on 49/49/82 shooting from the field. He has been out since November 18th due to a hamstring injury he suffered weeks ago against the Golden State Warriors.

Luckily for the Clippers, Powell is finally returning after a six-game absence. The Clippers officially upgraded Powell from questionable to available tonight against the Denver Nuggets. He’ll start against Denver in a game where the Clippers could really use him, especially with Denver returning Aaron Gordon on their side.

The Clippers currently hold a 1-0 lead over the Nuggets in the regular season after defeating them earlier in the season on October 26th. It was a game in which Ivica Zubac absolutely exploded with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Norman Powell also had a tremendous performance on the night, scoring 37 points and 3 rebounds. The Clippers will need the same level of performance as the Nuggets tonight to get a win.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets meet tonight at 10:00 p.m. EST.
