Stellantis brand DS announces new electric car DS N°8

A few days ago, DS gave the first hint by publishing a teaser photo (see above) – but without revealing the name. However, DS has now let the cat out of the bag and revealed the name of the new vehicle: It will be called DS N°8.

The name heralds a new strategy that marks the launch of a 100 percent all-electric model while positioning it in the world of luxury, the company said. The introduction of the top designation “N°” is intended to herald a new model generation from DS Automobiles, it said. “N°” is the typical spelling of the word “number” in French. The “°” was shaped like a diamond tip by DS designers to symbolize elegance and competence.

DS Automobiles also recently revealed the first details about the DS N°8, but without naming it. The SUV coupé is said to offer a range of 750 kilometers according to WLTP – and more than 50 pre-production vehicles are already being tested in everyday life in France.

The front section features the typical DS Automobiles lighting signature with DS Pixelvision headlights. The daytime running lights are arranged vertically. The windshield is set far back and the hood is pulled down low. The rear wings are distinctively shaped. The three-dimensional rear lights protruding from the body surface and the vertical light signature also optimize aerodynamics. The new electric model from DS Automobiles achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.24.
