Stephen A. Smith sends a message to Jason Kelce and the ESPN crew as he braves Kansas City at the Chiefs’ game against the Texans

Travis Kelce’s girlfriend isn’t the only mistress the Kansas City Chiefs star will have during Saturday’s playoff game against the visiting Houston Texans.

In his role as an NFL analyst for ESPN, Travis’ brother Jason Kelce arrived at Arrowhead Stadium for the decisive divisional round game, where wind-chilled temperatures hovered around 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

“Are you all OK?” ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith interviewed Kelce and the network’s NFL crew from the warmth and safety of the interior. “How are you all doing in this COLD?” I’m watching you all and praying for you… in warmer weather of course. Enjoy.’

Dressed in a red and black lumberjack coat and a matching winter hat, the elder Kelce strolled into Arrowhead with a hot cup of coffee so the weather didn’t seem to bother him too much.

Taylor Swift would arrive shortly thereafter with her own security guards, followed by Travis.

Compared to the Chiefs fans, some of whom didn’t arrive in Arrowhead until Friday night, Jason and Taylor arrived relatively late for kickoff at 4:30 p.m. EST.

The Chiefs Kingdom couldn’t wait for the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot to open Saturday morning before Kansas City’s Divisional Round playoff game against the visiting Houston Texans.

Not only was there heavy traffic at the Truman Sports Complex more than eight hours before kickoff, but some attendees actually arrived at the parking lot gates Friday night, as seen in a clip from KCTV’s Mark Poulose.

“There’s a fire going on for the brats,” one Chiefs fan told the reporter as he lifted the helmet-shaped lid of his grill.

These gentlemen were soon joined by thousands of others, as seen in a clip posted to social media by ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

“The obligatory video of Chiefs fans lining up outside the Arrowhead gates 8.5 hours before the game to close the gates in 18 degree weather,” Darlington wrote on X.

Of course, this has become something of a January tradition on I-70. The Chiefs have not lost a home playoff game since the AFC Championship in January 2022, when Patrick Mahomes & Co. lost to the visiting Cincinnati Bengals.

And thanks to the team’s continued success, fans have turned every playoff game into an all-day vacation.

“I’m so KC, I woke up EARLY and knew #ChiefsKingdom was already waiting at the gates of Arrowhead,” one fan wrote on X. “#Tradition.”

And the weather once again fails to deter Chiefs fans who plan to eat and drink in a parking lot for eight hours before kick-off at 3:30 p.m. (local time).

Saturday morning temperatures were around 19 degrees Fahrenheit. However, there could be wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph, according to KSHB meteorologist Jeff Penner.
