Disney+’s hit Korean original series “Moving” will air on MBC later this month. This marks the first collaboration of its kind between a global streaming platform and a Korean terrestrial broadcaster, MBC announced on Thursday.

The 20-episode superhero drama premieres December 22 at 10 p.m. on MBC, with the first eight episodes airing during Christmas week. Two episodes will be broadcast weekly starting in January.

While it’s common for terrestrial broadcasters to release their TV shows on streaming platforms, this is a rare case of a streaming original making its way onto traditional television.

“‘Moving’ is a megahit on Disney+, but there are still many viewers who have not yet had the opportunity to see the show,” MBC said, adding that this is part of its efforts to provide a diverse offering of high-quality programs to offer its audience.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name by Kang Full, the sci-fi action series tells the story of a group of individuals with extraordinary abilities who hide their true abilities from the world in order to protect their families from danger.

It premiered on Disney+ in August 2023 and quickly became the most-watched local original series of the year on the platform.

During the Disney Content Showcase in Singapore last month, the company announced that a second season is currently in development. (Yonhap)
