Suns’ Royce O’Neale has an ankle sprain and is being reevaluated

Royce O’Neale will be re-evaluated in 10 days as the Phoenix Suns winger is suffering from a sprained left ankle, the team announced Tuesday.

If O’Neale misses Tuesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, for which he was ruled out Monday, it would be the winger’s first missed game this season.

The 10-day schedule would mean O’Neale will miss games against the Indiana Pacers (Jan. 4), Philadelphia 76ers (Jan. 6), Charlotte Hornets (Jan. 7) and Atlanta Hawks (Jan. 9).

A game against the Utah Jazz on January 11th would be the first after the timeline expires.

The 31-year-old is coming off a career year in which he averaged 10.8 points per game and shot 44.8% from 3-point range.

Which other Suns are dealing with injuries?

Phoenix is currently having major issues with absences, with eight players listed on the injury report in some way.

Devin Booker, who is questionable for Tuesday’s game, has missed the last five games because of a left groin strain he suffered on Dec. 19 against the Indiana Pacers. He has averaged 25.1 points and 6.4 assists per game this season and the Suns have gone 1-4 in his absence (15-16 overall).

Phoenix also listed guard Grayson Allen (concussion protocol) as likely to return, with Bol Bol joining Booker in the questionable category.

Jusuf Nurkic is out as he continues to serve a three-game suspension for a mix-up with Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall.
