Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s deputies find eight puppies on the side of the road

NOW it’s time for another check on our first warning weather. It’s pretty cold to start the day. And JIM, you said the cold temperatures are going to stick around for a while, right? THE COLD AIR WILL INCREASE TOMORROW AFTERNOON, YOUR MORNINGS WILL BE QUITE COOL. Probably cold if you’re on the north coast. NOT ONLY TOMORROW MORNING, BUT ALSO MONDAY AND TUESDAY. BUT THE AFTERNOONS ARE FILLED WITH SUNSHINE AND NOW WE SEE THE TEMPERATURES RISING VERY QUICKLY. We started at 6 a.m. when we went on the air in Bogalusa in 29 degree weather. NOW WE’RE AT 41. IT’S GOING VERY FAST. WARM UP 42 IN HAMMOND, GALLIANO 51. BEAUTIFUL GRAND ISLE, EVEN AT 51. THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS NOW AT LOUIS ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. ATMOSPHERE WITH VERY LOW DEW POINT. Pretty dry at the moment. The wind will be from the east to northeast at 1 p.m. It’s a little windy at the airport, but generally the wind should be around 5 to 10 degrees throughout the day. TODAY. There is high pressure in the north of us. This is starting to shift a bit, so our winds will be blowing more eastward this afternoon. This means it will be slightly warmer than yesterday. It will also be a little less windy than yesterday. TO THE TROPICS. We enjoy the Gulf of Mexico, calm Caribbean, calm inner tropical convergence, a little quiet. SO THAT’S IT. WE ARE DONE. Hurricane season officially ends at midnight tonight. HIGH TEMPERATURE TODAY. I think we’ll get close to 60 in a few places. ACCORDING TO THIS MODEL. 61 IN HOMA, 61 IN GALLIANO. MID TO UPPER 50S ON THE NORTH COAST. Obviously cloud coverage is very, very limited. So there will be plenty of sunshine, there may be a few clouds overnight this evening, perhaps towards tomorrow and again tomorrow morning. A frost warning could be in effect for the north coast. The National Weather Service is mulling it over, but overall it looks like it’s on the North Coast and tomorrow morning everyone should be a few degrees warmer than we were this morning. TOMORROW IN THE AFTERNOON. Okay, here’s a warming trend. In many places we are already well into the 60s. Maybe even the mid-60s. BUT THE COLD AIR WILL INCREASE AGAIN LATE IN THE DAY. SO THE MORNINGS OF MONDAY AND TUESDAY WILL STILL BE COLD. GOING TO THE SAINTS MATCH AT THE SUPERDOME TOMORROW SHOULD BE GREAT FOR WALKING TO THE GAME. It’s a 3:00 game, but it’s starting. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. IT’S 630. THE END OF THE GAME. THESE TEMPERATURES WILL FALL. That’s why you may not need a jacket when you go to the Superdome. BUT SINCE THE GAME PACKAGES A JACKET OR SWEATER, IT’S PROBABLY A REALLY GOOD IDEA. The sunny sky is a little warmer. NOT SO AIRY. HIGH TEMPERATURE, CLOSE TO 60°C. IN MANY PLACES, BUT A LITTLE COOLER. Probably mid to upper 50s on the North Shore. CLEAR SKY, COLD AGAIN. The North Shore may experience some frost as we had a bit of frost in the Covington area. AND TOMORROW THE SUNNY SKY WILL BE WARMER AGAIN. High temperatures are in the mid to upper 60s °C. WE WILL MAKE TUESDAY A WEATHER AFFECT DAY. We’ve had this in the forecast for a long time, as there could be another frost warning on Tuesday. And of course, if the National Weather Service issues a freeze warning overnight tonight, we’ll make Sunday morning an impact day as well. IN THE AFTERNOON THE TEMPERATURE DOESN’T CHANGE MUCH UNTIL TUESDAY, THEN WARMER AND YES, A CHANCE TO LOOK UNTIL THE END
