Teen receives hit-and-run ticket after hitting car

Brookfield police ticketed a 17-year-old Broadview teen on Nov. 18 after his car struck another vehicle in a hit-and-run.

According to police, a woman reported the incident around 3:35 p.m. after entering the Brookfield Police Department. She told police her car had just been hit by another car that didn’t stop. She said she followed the vehicle from Brookfield Avenue northwest onto Grand Avenue to take a photo of its license plates before turning around and reporting the incident.

Police later linked the vehicle’s license plate number to a phone number, but when the interviewee called and identified himself, he hung up. The investigating officer then had Broadview Police respond to the address attached to the registration. There they found the car parked outside and made contact with someone who didn’t speak English.
