Temps closes administrative offices for the César Chávez Day

When compliance with the César Chávez day, the city of Tempe will close all administrative offices on Monday, March 31st.

César Chávez was an American operator and civil rights activist, explained a city freedom. Chávez led the first successful Farm Workers Union in American history and achieved dignity, respect, fair wages, medical coverage, pension benefits and human living conditions as well as countless other rights and protective measures for hundreds of thousands of agricultural workers.

Emergency services

  • The police and fire brigade are not affected by the holiday.

Tempe 311

  • Tempe 311, the city’s Customer Relations Center, is closed. To fill out a service request form, visit pace.gov/311.

Tempe Customer Services

  • The Tempe customer service is closed. For more information and to pay your invoice online, visit pace.gov/customerservice.

Tempe Municipal Court

  • The court is closed. To provide a payment or view case information, visit pace.gov/court. Telephone payments can be made on telephone number 480-350-8800 or 1-877-729-2687. This automated payment system is not available from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

  • Bus and rail traffic services are operated according to regular schedules. The Tempre Transit Store is closed. Visit pace.gov/tempeinmotion.

Garbage and recycling

  • Commercial and living waste services are not affected. The budget collection center, 1320 E. University Drive, is closed (480-858-2223).

Parks and relaxation

  • The Kiwanis Recreation Center, 6111 S. All-America Way, is closed.
  • The Kiwanis parking system is closed (480-350-5727).
  • Cahill Senior Center, 715 W. Fifth St., is closed (480-858-2420).
  • The Clark Park Community Center, 1730 S. Roosevelt St., is closed (480-350-5208).
  • Escalante Community Center, 2150 E. Orange St., is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (480-350-5800).
  • North Tempe Multi-Generational Center, 1555 N. Bridalwreath St., is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (480-858-6500).
  • Pyle Adult Recreation Center, 655 E. Southern Ave., is closed (480-350-5211).
  • The Westside Community Center, 715 W. Fifth St., is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (480-858-2466).

Pools and spray pads

  • The cloud in Kiwanis Park, the Parque de Soza Splash Pad, the Esquer Park Splash Pad and the Jaycee Park Splash Pad are closed.
  • Clark Pool is closed.
  • Escalante pool is closed.
  • The Kiwanis Wave Pool is closed.
  • McClintock pool is closed.
