No. 1 does not come with certainty

The Longhorns are the country’s highest program for the first time in 21 years, but they hope that they can avoid the fate of Fighting Irish, which only lasted one week in this slot. Texas is the third team that has the top position in the past three weeks after the defeat of the UCLA against USC reduced the bruins in the ranking on February 13. If March is approaching, there seems to be no clarity about who should be the title favorite. The field seems to be far open, since it was only the fifth time since 2001 that three different schools were number 1 in three weeks.

South Carolina, No. 6 in the survey of this week, remained a place under Uconn that is number 5. However, the Gamecocks were the No. 1 in the pre -season and remain very strong in the fight against title. This year there were four teams on the ranking, which has only taken the sixth time since the beginning of the survey in 1976.
