Texas, Texas A&M employees get into a fight before the Lone Star Showdown

As Texas And Texas A&M Get ready to renew that Lone Star ShowdownTensions are already high. Staff from both programs exchanged words as a scuffle broke out before the game.

Saturday night will be the first time Texas and Texas A&M will face each other since 2011. That was the last year the Aggies were in the Big 12, and Justin Tucker scored the game-winning field goal and secured the victory for the Longhorns in what was then the final phase of the rivalry.

Thirteen years later, the two teams will face off again at Kyle Field. However, it looks like the fireworks will start early.

Of course, there’s more at stake in Saturday’s game than just the return of the interstate rivalry. The winner goes on a date to the SEC Championship Georgia. That adds even more excitement to the match, which will take place in front of a packed house and loud atmosphere in College Station.

Steve Sarkisian will also get his first taste of the rivalry with Texas A&M when the game begins, and he expressed his excitement for the game’s return. He knows it how much it means for the state as a whole, which makes it even more special.

“I think it’s so cool that we’re playing this game again,” Sarkisian said earlier this week. “But the key to the practice is like I just told the team: OK, we’re all excited. We all want to win next week. What shall we do today? Now when I’m done talking, should I prepare? Because I think preparation leads to positive performance.

“I think it’s great for college football that this game with us and them has a bigger meaning than just what’s happening in the state of Texas. But I also know how much it means to every household in the state of Texas. So it’s pretty cool to be a part of it. I’m really excited.”
