The 14-year-old student stabbed, killed by another student at school, says Killen Police

Killen, Texas -According to Killen Police Department, a 14-year-old girl was stabbed and killed by another student at a middle school in Killen.

In a press release on Monday, the police said that a 14-year-old girl was found with a stab wound at Roy J. Smith Middle School during school.

“The preliminary investigation shows that a dispute between two female students escalated, which caused one student to suffocate the other,” said the police.

The girl was taken to a hospital in a critical condition, but was declared dead around 12:21 p.m., the police said.

According to the police, the 14 -year -old suspect was taken into custody by a Killen ISD police officer.

The department said the names of the people involved are not published due to their age.

“We recognize the emotional effects of this incident on the victim’s family, the students, employees and the entire Killen community.” The department said partially in the publication. “Our thoughts are with all those affected and we expand our support to the needy.”

The campus was placed in the Lockdown on Monday morning after the incident, and the students were brought to a reunification in a local church, according to a Facebook contribution by the school.

In an update, the district said that lessons at school will not be resumed until Monday, March 24th, after the spring holidays of the district. The employees will report on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Jackson Professional Learning Center under 902 Rev. Ra Abercrombie Drive in Killen.

Regular courses such as normal are continued in all other Killen ISD schools.

Advisors and support services will be available for students and employees if they return from the Spring Break, said the district.

Consultants will also be available for the rest of the week at the Jackson Professional Learning Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for all students who need immediate support.

The district said that he would communicate families if they can pick up all the items, the students remain at school.

“Our hearts are difficult when we control this difficult time together,” said the district. “We know that this tragedy has deeply influenced our school community, and we would like to make sure that our students, employees and families have the space and support that are necessary to mourn and recover.”
