The PS5 Slim is on sale at its lowest price ever. The PS5 Slim is on sale at its lowest price ever.

PlayStation

PlayStation 5 Slim gaming console: As a long-time Xbox expert, it pains me to say this: The PS5 is the gaming console you probably really want. This is largely due to the impressive list of exclusive titles that you can’t play on Microsoft’s (or Nintendo’s) competing slots – such as franchises God of war, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hell diver And Marvel’s Spider-Manto name just a few of the most notable. If you haven’t made the jump to the PS5 yet, now is a better time than ever: the “slim” version of the console is slightly less bulky in both scope and price than the 2020 original, starting at just £375 US dollars for the fully digital version, and $424 for the PS5 model with a built-in Blu-ray drive. (Get the latter if you want to play games or movies on disc.) Unfortunately, there are no discounts on the $699 PS5 Pro, but that’s overkill for all but the most die-hard PlayStation fans. AirPods Pro 2 earbuds: Apple’s best earbuds are now available for nearly $100 less than the Apple Store, despite being more fully featured than ever before. And while they can function as hearing aids with the latest firmware update, average users will be more impressed by their top-notch noise cancellation as well as their effortless compatibility with Apple devices, from iPhones, iPads and Macs. Do you want Android compatibility? Go for that Bose QuietComfort Ultra for 23 percent off or opt for full-size headphones like the Better than Solo 4 (up to $100) or the Super Sony WH-1000XM5 (25 percent discount).

JBL Clip 5 Bluetooth speaker: Yes, this Black Friday you can buy Bluetooth speakers for just $20. However, we’d recommend spending on something like the JBL Clip 5. I own — and love — the previous one, but this new 2024 model adds stereo pairing (if you purchase a second set) and adjustable EQ via the JBL app. It is also completely dust and waterproof and is partly made from recycled plastic. Seal the deal? The discount is currently 37 percent. Save a little more with the even smaller stepdown model, the JBL Go 4now marked down to $40. Find more Black Friday deals under $50 here.

The 10th generation iPad has reached its lowest price yet.The 10th generation iPad has reached its lowest price yet.

Apple iPad (10th generation): In recent months, Apple has released its discontinued 9th generation iPad for just $199. But now the current base model is down to $250, making it even more attractive. This 2022 model doesn’t have the processing power to run current or future Apple Intelligence apps, but is otherwise a solid entry into the company’s touchscreen computer lineup, with a Touch ID power button, a large 10.9-inch screen and compatibility with Apple Pencil (sold separately). Do you need more storage space? The 256GB model is down to $410 – twice as much space as the admittedly nicer and newer models iPad Air (Currently also on sale for $100 off). Roku Ultra: Engadget’s list of the best video streamers is littered with Roku models, including this new Ultra box for 2024. And for good reason: This latest high-end Roku largely addresses the previous version’s complaints, with extensive HDR compatibility, an updated rechargeable voice remote (finally USB-C) and both Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6 support. The 20 percent Black Friday discount brings it down to $80, but if you’re on a tighter budget, that’s the case Roku Streaming Stick 4K ($29), you get most of the same features for less than half the price. And we’ll give it an honorable mention Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max – currently on sale for just $33 – a better choice for anyone using a VPN to expand their streaming options. And whether you’re buying a new streamer or are already covered in this regard, keep this in mind Disney/Hulu, peacock And Max All have some solid Black Friday specials that are worth checking out.

Apple Watch 10: The Apple Watch has received a nice redesign for 2024, with a thinner case and a larger watch face – the “small” one is now 42mm, while the larger one measures 46mm, effectively dwarfing the Apple Watch Ultra. Yes, you’ll still need to charge it almost every day, but the always-on screen and more efficient battery make it a nice upgrade for anyone who still has a Series 7 or older. With starting prices down to $329 on Black Friday, it’s a good time to buy. However, it is worth noting that the Apple Watch SE is down to just $149 if you don’t need the latest and greatest features.

MacBook Air: There are at least three “new” MacBook Airs you can buy at Walmart right now. Prices start at just $600 at Walmart for the M1 model. My advice? In addition to treating yourself to the latest M3 model, pay a little more to get it with half a terabyte of storage. The 512GB MacBook Air M3 modelCombined with the now standard 16GB of RAM, you get an extremely capable Apple laptop for just $1,049. That’s $250 less than the Apple Store price and a whopping $150 less than I paid when I bought this configuration on Amazon last March. Of course, the inevitable M4 version of this product is expected next spring – but that won’t help you meet your gift-giving deadlines, will it? See more Black Friday laptop deals.

Apple AirTags (4-pack): This is pretty much the only Apple product priced as a “gift item,” but it’s a gift that anyone who owns an iPhone shouldn’t miss out on. Drop one of these little, half-dollar-sized trackers anywhere—in a purse, backpack, suitcase, or even on a keychain—and you can track them using your Apple device. LG OLED TV: The principle of TV buying in recent years still applies: OLED TVs offer the best overall picture quality and black levels, second to none. While Sony and Samsung have finally brought some competition to this space, LG remains the top choice – and Black Friday season is still the best time to buy.
