“Gladiator” (2000)

We had to add Gladiator to the list since the sequel is already in theaters. So if you need to watch it before going to the cinema, watch it on Prime Video. In Ridley Scott’s action-adventure Gladiator, Maximus (Russell Crowe) is a former general who was enslaved and forced to fight for his life as a simple gladiator. But eventually he rises through the ranks with the aim of avenging the murder of his family.

“Boomerang” (1992)

Reginald Hudlin’s romantic comedy “Boomerang” centers on the confident and suave advertising executive Marcus (Eddie Murphy). He is known for getting anything and any woman he wants. However, when a corporate merger forces him to work for the beautiful and intelligent Jacqueline, who enjoys the bachelor lifestyle as much as he does, Marcus must choose between the challenging Jacqueline or his other, sweeter and more considerate girlfriend, Angela.

“Good Will Hunting” (1997)

Who doesn’t need a good, heartwarming tearjerker in their film program? “Good Will Hunting” is one of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s early collaborations and won them each the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. It’s about a highly intelligent young man named Will (Matt Damon) who doesn’t realize the full potential of his brain. While working as a janitor at MIT, Professor Geral Lambeu discovers his intelligence after seeing him solve a graduate math equation. When Will is arrested for assaulting a police officer, Lambeu only offers to help him solve his crime if he starts therapy with a man named Sean Maguire (Robin Williams).

“Airplane!”

Another classic on this list is the comedy “Airplane!” The parody film by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, Jerry Zucker, Arthur Hailey, Hall Bartlett and John C. Champion parodies several successful disaster films of the 70s through a hilarious plot. In order to land a plane full of food-poisoned passengers, a drunken rogue pilot is forced to work with his ex-girlfriend while juggling a series of crazy events unfolding in the air.

“Coraline” (2009)

“Coraline” ends up on this list because it is simply a great film and something for the whole family. In “Coraline,” a young girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) explores an alternate world hidden behind a secret door in her home. Everything is going well in this new dimension, which is eerily similar to her own, at least until her other family (led by a mother played by Teri Hatcher) tries to let her stay there forever. Now she must find a way to return to her real family.

“Little Soldiers”

Let’s be honest: this film’s toy-sized, dark characters and action-packed scenes kept us on the edge of our seats. “Small Soldiers” follows the journey of Alan (Gregory Smith), who has purchased a series of soldier-like action figures. But these are no ordinary toys, they have been programmed with military technology. When the toy soldiers come to life, Alan finds himself caught in the middle of a war between the commando elite and the Gorgonites.

“Rosemary’s Baby” (1968)

Last but not least, it really is your favorite classic. A young woman (Mia Farrow) and her husband (John Cassavetes) move into a New York apartment with a sinister background and creepy neighbors. Eventually she becomes pregnant, but she has a suspicion that her child is not from this earth. Only at birth does she realize the child’s true identity.
