The Alabama country star will perform at the CMA Awards in his home state after a great duet: ‘They were on fire’

After his first big win at the CMA Awards, Alabama’s Riley Green has added a new date to his “Damn Country Music Tour” — and yes, it’s right here in his home state.

A native of Jacksonville, Green is scheduled to perform at the new Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham on August 9, 2025. Alabama native Ella Langley, his duet partner on the CMA-winning “You Look Like You Love Me,” is also on the tour, along with Lauren Watkins and Preston Cooper.

Tickets for the 7pm show will be available starting Friday, December 6th at 10am CT via Live Nation/Ticketmaster. According to organizer Live Nation, prices are $39.75, $49.75, $59.75, $69.75 and $89.75, plus service fees. According to the ticket listing, pre-sales begin on Tuesday, December 3rd at 10am CT and end on Thursday, December 5th at 10pm CT.

Green and Langley took home the CMA Award for Music Event of the Year 2024 with “You Look Like You Love Me.” The two also performed the song at the televised ceremony on November 20 in Nashville, which caused quite a stir.

Rolling Stone, for example, praised the charismatic duet in a summary of the ceremony, calling it one of the highlights of the broadcast. “They were on fire and were the best evidence yet that the CMAs need to spend more time on new faces, especially when they have a song as good as this one,” said author Joseph Hudak. “Performance of the evening? Damn close.”

Langley, a Hope Hull native, wrote “You Look Like You Love Me” with Green and Aaron Ratiere and included it on her 2024 debut album, “Hungover.” She is listed as the song’s main artist, with Green being the featured performer.

With Green on board, “You Look Like You Love Me” became Langley’s breakout hit – and the latest success for Green, who previously hit the country charts with “There Was This Girl,” “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and “Half.” of Me” (with Thomas Rhett) and “Different ‘Round Here” (with Luke Combs).

Green’s third studio album, Don’t Mind If I Do, was released on October 18, with Langley featured on the title track. She also appeared in a video announcing his “Damn Country Music Tour,” in which she played the role of Sally Field in a tribute to “Smokey and the Bandit.” (Watch the video below.)

Birmingham is the only Alabama stop on Green’s “Damn Country Music Tour,” in addition to the 20+ dates announced in September. The tour begins on March 27, 2025 in Abbotsford, British Columbia and ends on August 23, 2025 in Nampa, Idaho. (The full list of tour dates can be found here.)

Green, a rising sensation in country music, has a long history of performing in his home state, with recent performances in the spring of 2024 at the Von Braun Center Arena in Huntsville and the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa. Green also performed at the first Duckman Jam in April and headlined a two-day country music festival at the legendary Flora-Bama Lounge on the Alabama-Florida state line.

Green, born and raised in Jacksonville, attended Jacksonville State University and played quarterback for the Gamecocks from 2008 to 2010. He dropped out of college as his musical ambitions took hold, initially gaining some fame through EPs such as “Bury Me in Dixie,” “County Line” and “Outlaws Like Us.”

Green also caught the public’s attention with two appearances on reality television, appearing on the CMT series “Redneck Island.” He won the 2016 competition with his partner Becky Andrews and received $100,000 in prize money.

Green has been gaining momentum in the country world in recent years, winning the 2020 ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year. He was also nominated for a CMT Award in 2020. An avid outdoorsman and singer-songwriter, Green often posts hunting photos on Instagram. A bar bearing his name, Riley Green’s Duck Blind, opened in Nashville in early September.

Green’s concert at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater is the fifth announced show for the open-air Birmingham concert venue, which is scheduled to open in June 2025. Live Nation announced its first concert for the amphitheater in October and confirmed a Teddy Swims show August 15, 2025.

Country star Thomas Rhett also has a concert planned in the amphitheater for June 27, 2025. Rod Stewart will perform there on August 2, 2025 with opening act Cheap Trick. Viral comedian Matt Rife has a date at the amphitheater on June 22, 2025.
