The Auburn linebacker sends a message to Alabama’s Jalen Milroe before the game

Ahead of the already tense Iron Bowl, Auburn’s Eugene Asante joined in the pregame trash talk with a post on his Instagram Story on Saturday morning.

The post was a picture of Asante tackling Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with the caption: “See you soon.”

Asante’s post wasn’t the first instance of trash talk from an Auburn player leading up to the game. On Monday, freshman linebacker Demarcus Riddick didn’t hold back when it came to trash talk, including words directed at Milroe.

“He’s a good quarterback, he’s fast, but he’s not faster than me,” Riddick said of the Alabama quarterback. “He won’t come out of the box this week and I have to work on that all week.”

Milroe responded to Riddick’s words on Tuesday.

“I don’t even know who that is,” Milroe said. “Let him talk. It’s part of it.”

Riddick also said that Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams is “not really nobody to me” and “not a big player.” He also sent a confident message about Auburn’s chances in the game.

“Going into this game, I’m going to hit the wall with the ball every time,” Riddick said. “Like I said, Bama is a big, competitive team. I’ve never lost to any opposing team, and I won’t lose to Bama as long as I’m here.”
