The best ATP Australian Open bets, including Sinner vs Giron

ATP Australian Open 1/16 Finals

Sonego – Marozsan: January 18, 2025 Time to be announced
H2H: first meeting

Lorenzo Sonego has won three of his last five games. Last week in Auckland he reached the second round, losing to Michelsen in narrow sets. Here at the Australian Open he defeated Wawrinka in four close sets. It was a high-quality game in which both players played aggressively throughout. Yesterday, in the second round, he defeated Fonseca in five close sets. Last year in Melbourne, Sonego reached the second round of the Australian Open, losing to Alcaraz in four close sets.

Fabian Marozsan has won four of his last five games. In the opening round of the Australian Open, he defeated Seyboth Wild in five close sets after spending four hours on the court. Yesterday, in the second round, he defeated Tiafoe in five sets. He was down 2-1 but kept his hopes alive. Marozsan parried several break points in the fourth set and successfully turned the game around. Last year in Melbourne he lost in the third round to Fritz in four sets.

The best bet

According to the bookmakers it will be a 50-50 game and we agree. Both players played and batted well in the opening games. We expect them to hold their serves without any problems. If this is the case, we expect another marathon game with possible tiebreaks.

Apart from that, Over Games is a value bet.

Value Bet/best odds: over 40.5 games @1.83 @bet365

Sinner – Giron: January 18, 2025 Time to be announced
H2H: 1-0

Jannik Sinner has won 19 games in a row. At the Australian Open, Sinner defeated Jarry in straight sets, as we predicted. His last defeat came in Beijing in October, when he lost to Alcaraz in the final. Yesterday, Sinner defeated Schoolkate in four sets in the second round. Surprisingly, he lost the first set 4:6. However, he reduced his unforced errors and turned the game around successfully. Jannik is the defending champion of the Australian Open. Last year, Sinner defeated Medvedev in five sets after trailing 0-2. According to bookmakers, Jannik is the biggest favorite to win the title in Melbourne.

Marcos Giron has won four of his last five games. Last week in Adelaide, Giron reached the quarterfinals, losing to Auger-Aliassime in straight sets. In the opening round of the Australian Open, Giron defeated Hanfmann in four close sets after losing the first set 2-6. Yesterday Marcos defeated Etcheverry in five sets in the second round. This time Marcos spent over four hours on the pitch. Last year in Melbourne, Giron lost to Draper in five sets in the opening round.

The best bet

According to the bookmakers, Sinner is the big favorite in this duel and we agree. Giron has no weapons for Janik’s game. Jannik is currently the best player in the world and has 19 consecutive wins. We expect him to dominate from start to finish.

Apart from that, Sinner covering the game’s handicap is a value bet.

Value Bet/best odds: Jannik Sinner -8.5 games handicap @1.91 @bet365
