The best travel deals for Black Friday and Travel Tuesday

As a sales season, Black Friday has long since expanded from the weekend to Cyber Monday. And it’s still growing as Travel Tuesday – which falls on December 3rd this year – gains traction.

In a recent report, consulting firm McKinsey & Company found that hotel, cruise and airline bookings skyrocketed on Travel Tuesday 2023. Airline purchases surged, exceeding the two-week average of sales on either side of the date by more than 60 percent. Cruise bookings increased by 50 percent.

“More people are investing in travel and experiences than ever before,” said Hayley Berg, senior economist at travel booking app Hopper. “On the other hand, we’ve seen more marketing and more vendors getting involved, so it’s really a snowball effect.”

But don’t wait until Travel Tuesday to book a deal. Companies are now offering bargains at the end of October.

Black Friday travel deals not only offer a break, but they also hit the market just before the travel lull in early December.

“Black Friday weekend represents a last-ditch effort to generate significant sales until traffic picks up in January,” said Sean Finelli, chief executive and co-founder of Tour Guy, a tour operator that offers a 10 percent discount on its guided tours Day trips – like London walking tours and Paris food tours – between November 26th and December 2nd (use code BLACKFRIDAY10).
