The calm weather will continue throughout the week

Areas of dense fog will develop overnight across eastern portions of New Mexico. This week our weather will remain mostly calm and mild.

It’s a very seasonal afternoon for early December across New Mexico with calm and calm conditions. Temperatures were slightly cooler today across the eastern portions of the state, with highs remaining in the mid and upper 50s. This evening the humidity will increase from the southeast. This will result in dense areas developing along and east of the low mountain range. Visibility may be reduced to zero at times, particularly in locations in the Sacramento Mountains, the East Mountains to Santa Rosa and into Las Vegas. Visibility will improve by Tuesday morning, but cloud cover will remain. Some light fog or drizzle is also possible in eastern New Mexico overnight.

Tuesday will be a warmer day across the state, although with a little more cloud cover. These calm conditions will continue through Wednesday, despite a weak cold front that may only drop afternoon temperatures by a few degrees. Mild temperatures will continue through the end of this week and into the weekend, remaining above average for most of the state. A few scattered showers are likely across parts of southern New Mexico Thursday and Friday afternoon, but precipitation totals will remain low. Drier weather will return to the weekend.
