The Chiefs are partnering with Bud Light to celebrate the world’s loudest fans with sound-activated refrigerators

Make some noise Chiefs Kingdom, it’s time to celebrate the biggest (and loudest) fans in the league. On September 29, 2014, Chiefs fans broke the record for loudest crowd noise at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium with 142.2 dB. To celebrate the fans and the 10th anniversary of this achievement, the Chiefs and Bud Light have teamed up to create an unforgettable moment to remember at the Sunday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Chargers on December 8th at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to create this occasion.

In the first half, fans are encouraged to show off their team spirit and cheer as loudly as possible. To commemorate this achievement, the Chiefs and Bud Light designed a custom, co-branded glass refrigerator that sits atop the stadium’s GEHA drum deck and “breaks” as fans cheer to honor the broken world record in 2014.

Just before that happens, a Bud Light-sponsored “Decade of Decibels” rewind highlight video plays on the video board, followed by live footage of the Chiefs Legends, who took part in the historic game in 2014, surrounding the refrigerator , as it “breaks.” open”, which triggered a special reward for the fans.

Fans attending the game (ages 21 and over) will receive a commemorative koozie with a QR code included upon entry. The QR code takes them to a Bud Light website (which has age restrictions before entering the website). Once the crowd cheers and the fridge “pops,” fans can enter online to win free beer for an entire year – and 142 people will be selected as winners.

For those fans who cannot make it to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (21 and older), a glass refrigerator co-branded with the Chiefs and Bud Light will be located at The Other Place Overland Park (7324 W 80th St, Overland Park, KS 66204) and Johnny’s Tavern (1310 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64106) in downtown Kansas City. Once the stadium refrigerator “breaks open” during the first half, the refrigerators at each location also “break open” and the bar provides each guest with a free beer.

“We are excited to celebrate this milestone with our fans and Bud Light,” said Chiefs President Mark Donovan. “The energy at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium is unmatched and we can’t wait to relive this record-breaking moment together. This is a big thank you to our fans – the heartbeat of this team. The passion, energy and unwavering support drive us to do our best every day. We are incredibly grateful to have the largest fan base in the NFL, it is what makes Chiefs Kingdom so special.”

“Fans are at the heart of everything we do at Bud Light and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with them,” said Todd Allen, SVP Marketing at Bud Light. “We are grateful to partner with the Chiefs to bring the cheer to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and usher in a new decade of record-breaking fan base.”

This time we turn the camera around and focus on the incredible fans who make it all possible. Cheers to honoring the spirit of Chiefs Kingdom and creating more legendary memories for years to come.
