The Christmas tree lighting at the Idaho Capitol will take place on December 3rd

Boise, Idaho – Governor Brad Little and First Lady Teresa Little invite all Idahoans to celebrate the holiday season at the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Idaho Capitol on Tuesday, December 3rd. The free celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes entertainment and remarks from the Governor and First Lady before the official tree lighting at approximately 6:30 p.m

The event will be broadcast live on Magic 97.9 and KBOI Radio’s Mike Kasper will serve as master of ceremonies. At 5:30 p.m., Christmas music begins playing at the Capitol as guests arrive and enjoy free cookies, hot cocoa and coffee while supplies last. Santa and his elf will provide candy canes and bookmarks to participants and will be available for photos.

The tree lighting ceremony begins at 6 p.m. with the governor, first lady and Idaho constitutional officers and music by the Andrus Ambassadors Honor Choir from Cecil D. Andrus Elementary School in Meridian and students from the vocal major program at Idaho Fine Arts Academy in Meridian. Guests are invited to the Capitol following the Christmas tree lighting until the festivities end at 7:30 p.m. Guests are also encouraged to visit the Governor’s Office of Ceremonies and the Capitol Gift Shop, where Idaho’s 2024 State Christmas Ornament and other items crafted by Idaho artists will be available.
