The City of Duluth provides an update on the closure of Idaho Street

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – City of Duluth officials have released an update on the road closure to Morgan Park.

The city’s engineering department says it is still inspecting the railroad bridge over Idaho Street.

To. On Oct. 4, crews closed the section of road leading in and out of the Morgan Park neighborhood for safety reasons following an annual inspection of the railroad bridge that crosses it.

The city has been working with the Canadian National Railroad, as it owns the bridge, and MnDOT to determine what is needed to reopen the road.

As part of this process, additional structural analyzes are carried out.

City leaders say they appreciate residents’ patience at this time and will provide them with updates when possible.

For residents and deliveries, the city asks that you continue to use the alternate route in and out of the neighborhood via 88th Avenue West.

The 88th Avenue West Bridge is marked 10’6″ for the arch height of the concrete bridge at the gutter.

There is more height clearance in the middle of the bridge.
