At the Australian Open this year, Naomi Osaka revealed her first concerns to join Patrick Mouratoglou. She was not sure whether they would get along, but now believes that the French coach was unexpected “funny.”

“It’s funny, I said it to people. At the beginning I was a little careful about him, just because his persona was very … I didn’t know if I were doing with him,” said Naomi Osaka during a press conference in Melbourne.

“But he’s really funny, very funny. I didn’t really expect it from him because I thought he was so straightforward. He is very funny,” she added.

Next for the 27-year-old is a tricky collision in the first round against Camila Osorio at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. Osaka won the only game between the couple in straight sets at the Australian Open 2022.
