The Crimson Tide is more likely to make the College Football Playoff

The Alabama Crimson Tide entered the final week of the regular season seemingly with no chance of reaching the College Football Playoff after suffering a resounding 24-3 road loss to Oklahoma.

After an absolutely wild weekend of college football, the Tide now have a pretty good chance of making the expanded 12-team field, and the Vegas odds suggest they’re even more likely to play in the postseason :

As long as Alabama stays ahead of Miami and South Carolina on Tuesday night when the playoff rankings are announced, they’ll be in pretty good shape. Miami’s loss to Syracuse nearly knocked the Hurricanes off the field. While Clemson is on the brink of its third loss this weekend, Miami’s loss allowed them to advance to the ACC title game.

If Clemson beats SMU, things will be more difficult for Alabama as Clemson would secure an automatic bid and SMU will also likely retain its spot going into the weekend given the odds are around -300.

The -104 value that Alabama is seeing is a razor-thin margin that can go either way, but essentially means the Tide have a 51 percent chance of making it the way things look now.
